Jackie Shroff reflects on his MumbairRoots in Chidiya Udd

Amazon MX Player, Amazon's free video streaming service, has unveiled its latest crime drama series, Chidiya Udd, an intense thriller based on Aabid Surti's novel Cages. The series takes viewers on a gripping journey through Mumbai’s hidden underworld, where crime and survival are inextricably linked. Starring Jackie Shroff, Bhoomika Meena, and Sikandar Kher, and directed by Ravi Jadhav, Chidiya Udd promises to be a riveting experience. The series is produced by Harman Baweja and Vicky Bahri.
In a candid reflection, Jackie Shroff shared: “Growing up, I was deeply familiar with the underbelly of the city. I spent a lot of time in the heart of Mumbai, watching films, eating, and socializing with people who had experienced the city’s hardships. Having grown up in a chawl, I carry the struggles and stories of that community with me. When the chance to portray this often-overlooked side of Mumbai arose, it felt only natural to draw from my own experiences to create an authentic and powerful portrayal.”
