Media ABBY Awards: Wavemaker India is Media Agency of the Year
Day 1 of Goafest 2024, held in Mumbai, culminated with the announcement of the winners of Media ABBYs and Publisher ABBYs. The Abby Awards 2024 powered by One Show continues to set new benchmarks. This year, the awards have attracted a staggering 3,506 entries from 273 companies, for the Creative and Media ABBY.
The Media ABBYs this year saw a total of 65 metals being awarded, which included:
- 1 Grand Prix
- 15 Golds
- 24 Silvers
- 25 Bronzes
With total points of 98 and 16 metals, Wavemaker India was declared Media Agency Specialist of the Year. The agency’s metals’ tally included – 4 Golds, 9 Silvers, and 3 Bronzes. Wavemaker won the four Golds for client Cadbury:
- Cadbury 5Star – Campaign ‘#erasevday’
- Cadbury 5Star – Campaign ‘5Star #NothingUniversity’
- Cadbury Celebrations – Campaign ‘#ThisAdIsMyStore’
- Cadbury Celebrations – Campaign ‘Cadbury #MyBirthdaySong’: Transforming classic birthday melody into personalized harmonies with the fusion of Generative Ai for 8 Billion people
Initiative Media was placed second in the Media ABBYs charts with total points of 48 and 8 metals. The agency won 2 Golds, 4 Silvers, and 2 Bronzes. Initiative Media won the two Golds for:
- Sunfeast Yippee! – Campaign ‘Yippee! Create Magic - Plastic to Parks’
- Amazon Prime Video – Campaign ‘Missing Elephants: Provocative Creativity shaking Humanity’
Close on its heels was Essence Mediacom, which scored total points of 42 and 6 metals. The agency took home the Grand Prix in Media ABBYs, along with 2 Golds, 1 Silver and 2 Bronzes. Essence Mediacom won the Grand Prix for Airtel 5G Plus for the campaign titled ‘Ultimate Fans: Look Maa! I am on TV’. The agency won the two Golds for:
- Adidas – Campaign ‘Adidas D2C’
- Airtel 5G Plus – Campaign ‘Airtel 5G Plus Ultimate Fans: Look Maa! I am on TV’
Sharing the fourth spot in terms of metals (6 each) and points tally (32 each) were:
- Mindshare – 1 Gold, 2 Silvers, and 3 Bronzes
- Publicis Media – 2 Golds, and 4 Bronzes
A significant highlight of the 2024 edition, the introduction of three new age categories – Digital, Mobile, and Technology, has collectively garnered 626 entries from 75 companies. Additionally, responding to industry demands, the inclusion of the health category and new sub-categories in trending subjects like AI, Virtual Reality, and Sustainable Practices has further demonstrated the awards’ commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and demands.
The judging process, a cornerstone of the Abby Awards 2024 powered by One Show’s integrity, was adjudged by an esteemed panel of 23 Jury Chairs and 204 jurors across 23 categories.
