Rajnath Singh Applauds Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya's 'Sky Force'
Veer Pahariya’s highly awaited debut film, Sky Force, has already captured attention ahead of its grand release this Friday. A perfect Republic Day cinematic tribute, the film’s trailer has left audiences in awe with its breathtaking visuals, gripping action sequences, and a storyline that delves deep into a historic chapter of India’s armed forces.
The film received a monumental boost when Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attended an exclusive screening in Delhi. Impressed by the storytelling, Singh took to the social media platform X to commend the film, saying: “Joined CDS and three service chiefs at the special screening of Sky Force. The film narrates the story of the Indian Air Force’s bravery, courage, and sacrifice during the 1965 War. I laud the makers of the film for their efforts.”
Accompanying his message were photos featuring Singh alongside Akshay Kumar, debutant Veer Pahariya, and producers Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, along with the three service chiefs and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).
Akshay Kumar responded with gratitude, posting on X: “Thank you, Sir. An absolute honour for me and the team of Sky Force that you, the CDS, and the three service chiefs took out time to watch and bless our film. We’ve made it with immense pride and gratitude for the courage of our armed forces.”
Veer Pahariya also shared heartfelt appreciation on Instagram, writing: “What an honour! Memories for a lifetime. Thank you, Sir.”
A Tribute to Heroism and Sacrifice
Sky Force chronicles India’s first-ever and most daring airstrike during the 1965 Indo-Pak War, spotlighting the valor of the Indian Air Force. Veer Pahariya plays Air Force Officer T Vijaya, a character inspired by the heroic Squadron Commander Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya, who was posthumously awarded the Mahavir Chakra for his exceptional bravery in the Sargodha mission. The film pays homage to the strategic brilliance and sacrifices of India’s armed forces, delivering a story that is both powerful and patriotic.
To further honor the spirit of the film, the team of Sky Force hosted a special screening for National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets in Delhi, facilitated by Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh and the Indian Air Force’s Disha Cell. The event saw NCC cadets, the future torchbearers of the armed forces, deeply moved by the film’s impactful narrative. Many shared emotional reflections post-screening, highlighting the inspiration they drew from the story.
Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, the film features Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar alongside debutant Veer Pahariya and Sara Ali Khan. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, Amar Kaushik, and Sahil Baber Khan, Sky Force is a dynamic blend of high-octane action and heartfelt patriotism.
