SC allows industry bodies to intervene in SDC matter
The Supreme Court has allowed industry bodies like IAMAI, AAAI, and others to intervene in the Self-Declaration Compliance (SDC) matter.
Justice Hima Kohli emphasized that the intention is not to harm any sector but to address issues comprehensively. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) is directed to hold meetings with stakeholders and submit an affidavit with suggestions within three weeks. The SDC mandate, initially broad, has been revised to focus on food and health sectors, with ongoing discussions about its implications on the advertising industry.
