Shri gets nomination for CLIO Awards 2012
Shri (Shrikanth Sriram), UK based multi-instrumentalist and FOLKTRONIC (Day 1 / Sony Music Independent) artist has bagged a CLIO Awards 2012 nomination for his outstanding original music score for the Google Chrome Short film ‘Tanjore’. This achievement is being considered as another feather in Shri’s cap.
Being shortlisted under the category of ‘Best original music’ for one of the most renowned awards, Shri continues to create innovative music.
This being his first venture into advertising industry, Shri has already made his mark by creating an astounding background score for Google Chrome’s ‘Tanjore’ short film. The short film is about how a local Tanjore artisan G Rajendran keeps the dying art of Tanjore painting and his livelihood alive by creating a website using Google Chrome. Shri’s music is a brilliant blend of traditional sounds with electronic music and has highlighted the real essence of the short film.
Shri says, “I am extremely thrilled because it is nominated for Best Original Music at one of the most prestigious advertising awards in the world. I was not aiming at making a hit but I was just trying to create a music score that would compliment the feeling and thought behind the short film. I was given the privilege to create this music in my own style which is why I could make the best of it.”
The CLIO Awards 2012 will be held on May 15 in New York City.
