Vipul Mathur joins HUL as Executive Director, Personal Care
Vipul Mathur has been appointed as Executive Director, Personal Care and as a Member of Management Committee at FMCG major, Hindustan Unilever. This is effective from June 1st, 2024. He will be succeeding Madhusudhan Rao. Mathur is at present the Head - Growth & Transformation for South Asia at Unilever.
Vipul Mathur has joined HUL in 2003 as a management trainee after the completion of his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management - Calcutta. In a career which spanned more than two decades, he has served in Customer Development and Marketing, covering Personal Care, Home Care and Nutrition.
CEO and Managing Director, HUL, Rohit Jawa, said, “Vipul is an accomplished marketeer and a business leader, known for his collaborative leadership style. He has been working closely with me to shape the long-term business strategy for HUL and I am sure in his new role, he will ably steer the Personal Care business to seize growth opportunities.”
Mathur's work in the Laundry business between 2012 – 2017 and in 2020-2021 were very successful. He spearheaded rural marketing, mobile marketing for Wheel, playing an important role in the launch of Kan Khajura Teshan (KKT), the first mobile-based radio platform in India, which has won Cannes. As per his role as the Category Head, he has led the portfolio transformation program, scaling up the Liquids business. As constituent of the Global Tea Leadership team within 2017-2020, Mathur has been working with teams in UAE, Indonesia, Ireland, the UK, and Australia, besides South Asia.
In his earlier role, as Vice President for Modern Trade and eCommerce, he solidified the omnichannel strategy of the brand, driving portfolio transformation for HUL in high-growth emerging channels.
