WPP's revenue surges to £ 21.7bn

Interim results for FY 13 second quarter and first half has been announced by WPP. With it’s billings at sterling pound 21. 7 billion the WPP Group has registered  a 1.2 % increase.
 
In the first half of the year a net new business billings of sterling pound 2.475 billion has been won by them. The figures are more than double than the first half of last year and this has led them to be in all leading net new business tables.
 
WPP gains from consolidation trends in the industry. They have won assignments from clients both old and new and some include large industry leading digital, advertising and media assignments.
Reportable revenues have shot up by 5.5 % reaching nearly sterling pound 5 billion.  Gross Profit was up 7% at 358 million.  This reflects a higher re-measurement gain vis a vis  last year .
WPP was awarded the Cannes Lion  for Creative Excellence in 2012 in view of being the most creative holding company. Since its initiation they have won this award for the second consecutive year. Ogilvy & Mather was also awarded in the category of the most creative agency network. 
 
In the second quarter constant currency revenues have increased 11.1%  in Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa, Middle East, and Central & Eastern Europe. The double digit growth rate was enhanced by Latin America, BRICS and Next 11 parts of Asia Pacific ,CIVETS and MIST.
 
A continuing trend is seen in the first quarter whereby it is observed advertising and media investment management still remain the strongest sector.
