Zee TV and SAB shake up the top 4 channel's league: TAM

The TAM data for this week has seen some serious leaps and a change of game all together. Zee TV has taken the number two spot leaving behind the reigned Colors at number three. Zee TV's Gross Rating Points (GRP) increased from 210 to 233 whereas the Channel Share (CS) is at 18.9% compared to last week's CS of 16.1%. While the channel has much to celebrate about, Pavitra Rishta yet again is the number one show across all GECs with a TVR of 5.63% and Jhansi ki Rani is placed at number 7 with a TVR of 4.07%. Across the households using digital networks with weekly GRP of 202 Zee TV has increased its gap against Colors which got 148 GRP and attained No. 2 position.

On the other hand SAB has moved from its number five position to number four pushing down Sony Entertainment Television (SET) to a number five position. According to week 9 of TAM SAB, India's family comedy entertainment channel now holds the No. 4 position with an increased GRP of 153 this week as compared to last week's 134 GRP. SAB's CS has gone up from 10.2% to 12.4% and its offering Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma is placed at number 8 with a TVR of 4.07%.

With our innovative and entertaining shows we are seeing regular increase in our audience base and we aspire to be amongst the top three channels and cross the 200 +mark very soon."

Star Plus is the number one channel across all Hindi GECs this week too. Though the channel's GRP has reduced by two points and is at 297, the CS has increased to 24.1%. Star Plus has four of its shows amongst the top 10 shows across channels. Saathiya Saath Nibhana , Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain, Sasural Genda Phool and Pratigya from Star Plus have made it to the list of the top 10 shows.

Colors is placed at number three and has reduced its GRP and CS from 283 and 21.7% last week to a GRP of 225 and CS of 18.3 this week. However, this week Laagi Tujhse Lagan (TVR-5.05%), Balika Vadhu (TVR-4.18%) and Uttaran (TVR- 3.87%) from Colors' wide offering are amongst the top 10 shows and placed at number 3, 6 and 9 respectively.

Sony Entertainment Television (SET) has dropped to the number five slot with a GRP and CS of 136 and 11.0% respectively. None of the shows from the channel's offering has made it to the top 10 shows' list this week too.
