Amazon makes acquisition of Xperi’s Perceive in $80 million deal

Xperi has signed an agreement with Amazon.com Services to sell most of the assets and some liabilities of its subsidiary, Perceive Corporation, which specializes in edge inference hardware and software, for a total of $80 million (€72.5m) in cash.

 Most of Perceive's 44 employees are expected to join Amazon after the transaction is finalized. Xperi anticipates the deal will close by the end of the year, pending standard closing conditions.
