Programming head of Zee TV quits

Zee TV's programming head, Ajay Bhalwankar, has decided to quit the media giant after a stint of 10 years! Bhalwankar has handled various positions through the decade he was with Zee group including stints at regional, music and Zee's flagship channel. Rumours have it that Bhalwankar is joining hands with Sony as programming head.

Ajay Bhalwankar joined Zee group in 1994 as assistant director at Dream Merchants ' advertising and marketing magazine of the group. He was one of the key professionals responsible for launching Music Asia that later transformed into Zee Music and the brand is now called Zing.

After working for three years with the music channel, Bhalwankar worked towards the launch of Zee Marathi in 1999 as the group head. Following this, he worked as business head of Zee Marathi and the as VP, Zee Marathi and Zee Talkies. Bhalwankar, in 2008, took the position of programming head of Zee.
