Stakeholders sign NDA with BARC
Yesterday BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) held a meeting with all its stakeholders, broadcasters, media agencies and advertisers in a closed-door plush suburban hotel to discuss about their forthcoming launch. The meeting discussed nitty-gritties of how the body will go about providing data.
The data that was shared, more or less highlighted the fact that the numbers are almost similar to what TAM provided. While the launch is awaited by end of this month and actual data will roll out on Wednesday's, it is speculated that the launch is due on 29th April, 2015.
BARC India CEO Partho Dasgupta said that there has been a good response from broadcasters, advertisers and media agencies.
Senior industry members informed us that all stakeholders have signed an NDA and will not be able to comment. Some of them also mentioned that only time to come will tell us if the body has met our expectations.
Currently, the industry is going through a ratings dark period.
