When creativity leads to effectiveness: Ogilvy CCOs on strong show at Effie India Awards
The 24th edition of the Effie India Awards, hosted by The Advertising Club (TAC) yesterday (January 24, 2025) in Mumbai, brought together over 1,200 stalwarts from advertising, marketing, media, and PR. Amidst a grand celebration featuring Platinum Guild International as the Positive Change - Social Good – Brands sponsor, Radio City as the Radio Partner, Diageo India as the Celebration Partner, and AMSTEL & Heineken Beer as the Beverage Sponsors, the evening culminated with Ogilvy Group India being named Effie Agency of the Year.
With an impressive tally of 3 Golds, 16 Silvers, 19 Bronzes, and 26 Finalists, Ogilvy clinched a remarkable 537 points to secure the top spot as the Lead Agency for 107 campaigns. Their victory highlights their unique ability to blend creativity with effectiveness, reinforcing their philosophy of delivering work that resonates both emotionally and strategically.
Kainaz Karmakar, Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy, expressed her joy, highlighting the importance of the work and brands behind the awards. She said, “Awards are amazing, but the brands we won for and the hard work behind it make it even more special. Hindustan Unilever, Mondelez, Colgate, ITC – these are significant clients. When creativity leads to effectiveness, there’s nothing better.”
Harshad Rajadhyaksha, Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy, emphasized Ogilvy’s dual focus on creativity and effectiveness. He noted, “Right from the culture Piyush established, we’ve believed in finding the creative edge relevant to brands. This evening reaffirms Ogilvy’s philosophy: conquering two summits – creativity and effectiveness.”
For Sukesh Nayak, Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy India, the night was all about celebrating the people behind the success. He shared, “People make us rock. I’ve screamed my lungs out tonight because of the incredible work across brands like Cadbury, Colgate, Savlon, and Dove. Our partners’ faith in us is everything.”
Nayak also had inspiring words for upcoming advertising talent, “You have no idea what magic you can create in this world. This industry allows us to innovate, inspire, and craft incredible things every day. Wake up ready to create the most amazing work of your life.”
