Ogilvy has announced the appointment of Max McKeon as Executive Creative Director (ECD) for its Sydney office. McKeon, an award-winning creative, joins from Special, where he played a key role in campaigns for Uber Eats, Kayo Sports, and Pepsi over the past four years.

With a career spanning top creative agencies worldwide, McKeon has previously worked at Saatchi & Saatchi New York, Colenso BBDO New Zealand, as well as Publicis Mojo and The Monkeys in Sydney. His portfolio includes some of the industry’s most celebrated ads, including It’s a Tide Ad and I’m Drinking It for You.

In his new role, which begins in mid-March, McKeon will collaborate closely with ECD Bridget Jung, who will continue to lead Ogilvy’s earned creativity division, overseeing Ogilvy PR, Ogilvy Health, and Ogilvy One. He will also work alongside Ogilvy Network’s chief strategy officer Fran Clayton and other creative leaders within the agency.

Ogilvy Network ANZ Chief Creative Officer Toby Talbot praised McKeon’s talent and humility, stating, "He has no right to be the humble, self-effacing human that he is with a body of work like his. Taking on the Sydney ECD role will allow him to develop his creative leadership potential even further."

Ogilvy Sydney Managing Director Michelle Holland highlighted McKeon’s ability to push creative boundaries while fostering a collaborative work culture. “He’s known for crafting transformative and inspiring work, which aligns perfectly with Ogilvy’s values,” she said.

Expressing excitement about his new role, McKeon said, "Ogilvy, both globally and locally, has been hitting its stride in terms of talent, clients, and work. It’s such a powerful and varied offering, making for a very interesting playground. In the immortal words of David Ogilvy, ‘I’m pretty jazzed.’”

His appointment reinforces Ogilvy’s commitment to strengthening its creative leadership and delivering impactful, culturally resonant work across its client portfolio.
