CavinKare’s Meera celebrates Diwali with 1000+ diyas in India map
Residents of Chennai gathered in an extraordinary display of unity and festive spirit as they came together to create a massive India map illuminated with over 1,000 diyas at Anna Nagar Tower Park. Organized by CavinKare’s revered brand, Meera, the event—aptly named One Diya, One Tradition—celebrated the time-honored tradition of lighting diyas, a symbol of Diwali that continues to unite the country across generations.
The glowing map of India crafted from diyas was not only a tribute to the festival of lights but also a powerful representation of India’s shared heritage. Under the banner of One Diya, One Tradition, Meera’s initiative emphasized the diya as a universal symbol connecting households from every corner of the country. The event beautifully captured the enduring cultural legacy of Diwali, even as customs and celebrations evolve with time.
Reflecting on the significance of the event, Rajat Nanda, Business Head - Personal Care at CavinKare, expressed, “As a brand, Meera has always cherished the Goodness of Tradition. We believe traditions are meaningful pillars, meant to be celebrated and passed down across generations. This belief is reflected not only in our products, which draw from traditional ingredients, but also in honoring customs that bring us together, like the lighting of diyas, symbolizing the victory of good over evil.”
Nanda continued, “Through this initiative, each participant has added to a heartfelt tribute to our nation, reminding us that wherever we come from, we are connected by shared traditions and values. The overwhelming turnout today underscores the community’s spirit and our collective commitment to preserving and celebrating traditions that unite us. This initiative is more than a Diwali celebration; it’s a celebration of India’s heritage and the values that define us.”
The illuminated India map served as a powerful and poignant reminder of the country’s unity in diversity, drawing together people from various walks of life to honor the symbolic glow of the diya.
