Varun Sood’s Diwali: celebrating away from family with heartfelt feelings

Varun Sood, who recently impressed audiences with his role in Call Me Bae alongside Ananya Panday and has also been seen in Karmma Calling and Naam Namak Nishaan is gearing up for a Diwali unlike any before. This year, Varun will be celebrating the festival away from his family, marking a significant change from his usual tradition of being surrounded by loved ones.

Sharing his emotions on his Instagram story, Varun expressed how different Diwali feels without the warmth of family. “It dawned on me—no mum, no fam, to bring Diwali alive this year. I’d wake up to a quiet house, no burst of rangoli colours or the fragrance of Biryani in the kitchen, or the typical kalesh (that I miss so much). This time, it’s me and my sister, and we’re the ones who have to make this place feel a little like home, a little like Diwali. Happy Diwali fam & esp to those who are spending it without families.”

For Varun, Diwali has always been about the vibrant traditions, family gatherings, and the warmth of home. This year, as he finds himself in a different setting, he is determined to recreate the feeling of Diwali with his sister. Together, they are making efforts to fill their space with the familiar touches of the festival, from simple decorations to shared moments that bring a sense of home.

Despite the distance from his family, Varun’s Diwali message resonates with others who may also be celebrating the festival away from loved ones. His words serve as a gentle reminder to cherish the presence of family, and for those separated, to create warmth and connection in new ways.
