Danone India appoints Shashi Ranjan as Managing Director

A global leader in the food and beverage industry, Danone India, has made the announcement of the appointment of Shashi Ranjan as the Managing Director for Danone India, with effect from May 10, 2024. With a wide background in the consumer goods industry and a demonstrated track record of leadership, Ranjan is bringing valuable expertise for futher driving the innovation and growth of Danone in the dynamic Indian market.

In his new role, Ranjan will  be spearheading the strategic initiatives of Danone in India, with a focus on expansion of the presence of the company, bolstering collaborations, and encouraging sustainable growth. Leveraging his profound understanding of market dynamics and consumer preferences, he is dedicated to driving Danone India towards its global vision of offering health through food to the people of India.

Ranjan is bringing more than two decades of experience in  strategic management, organizational transformation and corporate leadership. His vigorous leadership skills, strategic discernment, and passion for encouraging positive change make him an ideal fit for leafing the operations of Danone in India.

Before joining Danone India,  Ranjan served as President & Country Head of Sebamed in India, spearheading the growth and market expansion of the brand. Earlier he held central roles at Johnson & Johnson, McKinsey & Company, and IBM Consulting, steering business transformations and market entry strategies. Before this, he served the Indian Government in General administration and strategy roles covering various parts of India
