Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has announced its partnership with the Indian Air Force (IAF) for the Vayu Veer Vijeta Rally, an initiative aimed at honouring the courage and valour of soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
The rally, also known as Himalayan Thunder and Wings of Glory, seeks to inspire the youth to consider joining the Indian Armed Forces.
The rally was ceremonially flagged off on October 1, 2024, at the National War Memorial by India’s Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, in the presence of other dignitaries, Members of Parliament, and senior officials from Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. The formal flag-off will take place on Air Force Day, October 8, at THOISE Air Force Station in Ladakh, one of the world’s highest-altitude air bases.
The rally features 52 participants, including Air Warriors, women officers, veterans, and representatives from the Uttarakhand War Memorial. The convoy will cover 7,000 kilometers across challenging terrains, traveling from THOISE in Ladakh to Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.
Supported by the Progress, Harmony, and Development Chambers of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), New Delhi, the rally will stop at 16 locations and visit several war memorials along the route, paying tribute to fallen soldiers.
