Maruti Suzuki prioritizes safety with ESP standard

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has taken a significant step in enhancing passenger safety by announcing that the Electronic Stability Program+ (ESP) will now be a standard feature across its entire passenger vehicle lineup.

With this latest update, the Alto K10 and S-Presso models are now equipped with ESP, joining the rest of Maruti Suzuki's offerings. Notably, the company has implemented this upgrade without increasing prices, underscoring its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of customers.

The introduction of ESP across all models highlights Maruti Suzuki’s dedication to making advanced safety features accessible to a wider audience, ensuring a safer and more confident driving experience for all its customers.

Speaking on the development, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, stated: “The integration of Electronic Stability Program+ as a standard feature in our entire product portfolio reflects our commitment to democratizing advanced safety technology. At Maruti Suzuki, we believe that cutting-edge technology should be within reach for everyone, and this move reinforces our dedication to delivering high-quality vehicles that cater to the diverse needs of Indian consumers."

In addition to ESP, Maruti Suzuki vehicles come equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, engine immobilizer, the HEARTECT platform, and a collapsible steering column.

How ESP works

The Electronic Stability Program+ system helps prevent skidding by ensuring the vehicle stays on its intended path. The system integrates Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), and Stability Control (SC), using a network of sensors to monitor the vehicle's movement. The data is processed by an electronic control unit, which makes real-time adjustments to maintain stability and control, enhancing the overall safety of the vehicles.
