Swiggy bolsters Instamart leadership team ahead of IPO

In preparation for its $1.2 billion IPO, Swiggy is making strategic appointments to strengthen its quick commerce segment, Instamart. Recently, Swiggy announced the induction of several key executives, underscoring its commitment to enhancing product strategy and customer experience amidst fierce competition.

The new hires boast extensive experience from e-commerce giants like Reliance, Amazon, and Flipkart. Himavant Srikrishna Kurnala joins as Senior Vice President and Product Head for Instamart. Formerly the Chief Product Officer at Reliance Retail for JioMart, Kurnala brings nearly two decades of experience from Amazon and Microsoft. His role will be pivotal in bolstering Instamart’s product offerings and overall strategy.

Mayank Rajvaidya has been appointed as Vice President of Fruits and Vegetables. Rajvaidya, who previously led Amazon’s Consumables Private Brands in India and expanded Amazon Pantry to over 300 cities, will be instrumental in strengthening Swiggy's fresh produce category.
Manu Sasidharan steps in as Associate Vice President of the FMCG Category. With over 12 years of experience at ecommerce giants like Flipkart and Cleartrip, Sasidharan's expertise in business development and customer demand management will be critical in driving Instamart’s growth.

These strategic appointments highlight Swiggy's commitment to strengthening Instamart's product offerings and customer experience in the competitive quick commerce market. Swiggy faces stiff competition from established players like Zomato's BlinkIt and Zepto, along with new entrants.

The company also announced the move of Kumar Rahul, AVP of Business Development, to Swiggy's recent logistics acquisition, Lynk. This move further emphasizes Swiggy's focus on efficiency and growth in the on-demand delivery sector.
