Zomato teams up with Femi9 for female delivery partner support
Zomato has partnered with Femi9 to promote healthy menstrual hygiene among its female delivery partners in Tamil Nadu. This initiative aims to offer consistent access to eco-friendly menstrual products, supporting the well-being of women in the gig workforce.
Launched at the Femi9 Mega Celebration Event 2, the collaboration will provide free eco-friendly sanitary napkins to Zomato's female delivery partners. Alongside the sanitary products, each recipient will also receive a leaflet titled "Be a Cramp-ion," which includes health tips and educational resources on managing menstruation.
“At Zomato, we are committed to creating a more inclusive and empowering environment for women, particularly within our delivery partner fleet. This initiative reflects our holistic approach to supporting women and encouraging more to join the gig workforce. We’re excited to collaborate with Femi9 to address the specific needs of women in our community,” said Anjalli Ravi Kumar, Chief Sustainability Officer at Zomato.
Gomathi, Founder of Femi9, added: "Our goal is to ensure that our sustainable products reach every woman across the nation, and we believe that this collaboration with Zomato is a great starting point."
As of November 2024, Zomato boasts over 2,500 active female delivery partners across 250+ cities. The company has implemented several initiatives to support their well-being, including offering a Kurta as a clothing option, shorter-distance delivery assignments, two paid period rest days per month, and maternity cover in their insurance plans.
